Curtains for Patio Door and Other Window Treatments

Patios are great places to sit and chat or just relax. More often than not the doors that lead us to our patios have portions made from glass. Although you may enjoy being able to see your patio there are times when you may need some privacy. One of the best ways to get the privacy that you need without sacrificing a great view is by putting some form of window treatment.

One of the most common things used in cases like these are vertical blinds. These are permanent and you don’t have to worry about having to constantly change it unless it gets damaged.  There are however some downsides to getting this. First of all it can be quite costly especially since it may need to be installed by a professional, and the material used for these is also more expensive than other window treatments. Besides this cleaning can also be a bit more difficult since you will need to clean each blind individually.

Another option that is available is sliding panel tracks. These are a newer option compared to other window treatments and they provide full coverage from top to bottom. Similarly to vertical blinds these may be expensive and will need to be installed by a professional. Cleaning these can be even more difficult than cleaning vertical blinds; although if you make use of those made from cloth it can be vacuumed.

There’s no forgetting the good old classic window treatment-curtains for patio door. Despite being the oldest one around it is perhaps the most practical and affordable of all the treatments. In fact if you are skilled with the sewing machine you can even make your own. Installation does not require help of a professional since most people can attach rods and inert the curtains into the hooks. Cleaning is quite easy since you can just take it out and pop it into your washing machine and dryer. The best part is that it is so easy to replace you won’t have any trouble matching it in case you want to redecorate or change the color of the room.
